CU's Make up Tips Pg. 1

Hello, my dears. I've been asked to show how to do a complicated make-up. Something that could worry those you know to the grave.... My pleasure.

First you need a mold. I sculpted my design in clay and poured plaster over it. After the plaster hardened I cleaned the clay out of it; this is called a "negative mold",

Now you are ready for liquid latex. Have a bowl of warm soapy water nearby to soak your brushes in. This will help keep the latex from solidifying on your brushes and putting little latex boogers on your appliance. Pour a little latex into a plastic or paper cup. This will keep you from diluting your entire supply of latex.

Wipe excess soap bubbles off of your brush, dip it into your cup of latex and paint the inside of the mold where the impression was made from the clay. You may have to re-dip your brush in the soapy water if your brush starts to gum up or if the latex starts to string and roll up in the mold. Otherwise, dip into the latex and paint the mold until the impression surface is completely covered and allow to dry  thoroughly. Repeat this until you have a good strong thickness, but allow your edges to be thinner for easier blending.

Now that you have acquired your desired thickness, sprinkle baby powder on the appliance and spread thoroughly. Start an edge up with your fingers and powder the underside as you go along, pulling easily as not to tear the appliance, and powder. Point of interest , powdering keeps the rubber from sticking to itself. If a deeper part of the mold is stubborn in coming out take rounded end of a paint brush while you pull the appliance and pry gently until you have it out.
